Read Psalm 139: 14-16

One thing I have noticed about many teachers is their lack in taking care of their bodies in any shape or form.  I am not an Adonis or anything but I keep my weight in check and eat healthy.  We as teachers need to set the example in the classroom of being healthy.  We all feel better both physically and emotionally when we take care of our bodies.  Chronic stress along with a sedentary job setting make us in danger of gaining weight if unchecked.  These verses demonstrate the connection of our mind and body as God created us.  If we don’t take care of the temple God gave us, we are letting him and our students down.  Students watch our behaviors and will mirror them.  We owe it to them to do the best we can by them.  Check out the link below for some tips you can actually use in the classroom to help.

Pray:  Lord, help me to maintain a healthy mind and body.  There are occasions where I put things in it that I shouldn’t but you have provided me with a firm foundation with which to work.  I will try to continue to moderate my consumption. Remind me that my students and family watch my behavior.  Help me be mentally and physically strong.
